Most breast implants are FDA approved for 10-20 years, but it does not mean patient need to remove and replace them every 10-20 years.
In fact, patients only need 1-2 replacements in their lifetime, mostly because they want to trade the current implants for larger or smaller size.
As patient ages, the implant implants may shift, especially after breastfeeding activities and when patient gain or lose significant amounts of weight. These might become another reason to do the implant removal and replacement.
